IZE Executive Board Member vacancy – Social Media Editor
IZE ( International Zoo Educators) Association’s vision is to conserve global biodiversity through effective zoo and aquarium programs. Our mission is to engage our members worldwide to achieve biodiversity conservation by encouraging sustainable behaviors in people that visit zoos and aquariums. We will do this by promoting greater and more effective use of zoological gardens, aquariums, nature/wildlife centers and wildlife reserves, for educational purposes; encouraging and facilitating the networking, idea exchange and cooperation among professionals concerned with and interested in enhancing the educational work of zoos and promote the organization of regular conferences on the educational work of zoos.
To achieve our vision and mission , we have created this new post on the IZE board.
IZE Social Media Editor role and responsibilities:
- . Determine the appropriate social media channels in which IZE should engage
- . Follow members’ channels and repost best content
- . Recruit captivating content from members
- . Facilitate the discussion on social media site(s)
- . Provide updates on numbers and engagement to the Board
- . Act as a resource for members on social media strategies and tactics
As a board member, you will need to be an IZE member and will need to participate in regular telephone conference meetings with the rest of the IZE board. The International Zoo Educators Association can function well only when the board members have the opportunity to meet regularly with each other. Therefore, every board member must attend all the biennial conference during his/her term on the board, starting with the conference immediately following his/her election or appointment. The members of the Executive Board, with the exception of the Website Editor, Social Media Editor, and the Journal Editor, shall be elected for a maximum of two consecutive terms – each term is two years. They are eligible for automatic re-election, after one term, should they wish to continue to serve the Association, but, for not more than two consecutive terms. The Website Editor, Social Media Editor and the Journal Editor can be elected for a maximum of four consecutive terms, with an automatic reelection after the first, second and third term, should they wish to continue.
