Vice Chair for SEAZA Species Management Committee

Kanako Tomisawa serves as Spokesperson for Omuta City Zoo, Vice Chair for SEAZA Species Management Committee, and Part-time Lecturer for the Teikyo University of Science, Japan. She has been in the conservation, population management, data analysis, membership service, PR, communications, and education fields for 20 years, and has worked for the Association of Asian Wildlife Conservation, Species 360, and a university in Japan.

She has liked animals since she was a little, and her passion for conservation and education started when she was a university student. Since experiencing Sumatran tiger conservation activities in Indonesia, her passion for education has remained even stronger.

Her academic background includes a Ph.D. in Environmental Management and an M.Sc. in Applied Animal Science.
