World Zoo & Aquarium Association (WAZA)

Together with the World Association of Zoos & Aquariums, we promote joint communication and behavioural changes activities focusing on conservation education and interpretation as well as behaviour change.

IZE provides expertise and guidance on conservation education and communications and WAZA helps amplify the scope of the conservation communications, education, and interpretation initiatives.

The Ocean Project

The Ocean Project coordinates World Ocean Day which is celebrated at many zoos and aquariums around the globe.

Other conservation campaigns and resources for conservation educators are also available through The Ocean Project and shared widely throughout the IZE network.

Asociación Latinoamericana de Parques Zoológicos y Acuarios (ALPZA)

The Latin American Association of Zoos and Aquariums is the regional association of zoos and aquariums that promotes collaboration and knowledge sharing among its members in Latin America. 

IZE and ALPZA signed an MOU in 2024 that establishes a strategic partnership around areas of common concern and interest.

Wild Welfare

The first captive wild animal charity that is solely focused on improving welfare standards by uniting animal welfare NGOs and captive wildlife facilities, such as zoos, aquariums and sanctuaries, around the world.

IZE and Wild Welfare signed an MOU in October 2025 that recognizes a shared commitment
to achieve positive animal welfare in zoos and aquariums throughout the world.
