Tasks since 70th Annual Conference:

Key activities since June 2015 include: (since April, 2016)
1.Celebration of World Environment Day on 5th June, 2016 – Talks delivered by Zoos for School Children’s and Plantation of Saplings
2.Celebration of International Tiger day on 29th July, 2016 – Marathon for children’s with the theme to Sane our National Animals
3.Celebration of World Elephant Day on 12th August, 2016 – A drive for the welfare of captive elephants

Progress – bullet points / Challenges
Progress: These programmes were conducted with active role of the following organizations:
1.Forest Department of the Respective States
2.National Tiger Conservation Authority of India.
3.Project Elephant of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India
4.Wildlife SOS, New Delhi
5.Zoos of the Country
6.Central Zoo Authority
Challenges:
1.None except more funds needed to take up these activities at wider scale.

 

Planned activities from October to December 2016

Wildlife Week Celebrations during first week of October, 2016 in Major Zoos in India, including at National Zoological Park, New Delhi shall have following activities:
1.painting competition,
2.clay modeling,
3.essay competitions on zoos role in conservation of environment,
4.amateur wildlife photography competitions.
