Membership Levels & Benefits
IZE offers three membership levels to meet the diverse needs of our community. Choose the level that best aligns with your role and involvement in conservation education.
- Membership is valid for one calendar year (January 1 – December 31).
- Joining on or after November 1st provides membership through the end of the following calendar year.
- IZE offers a tiered pricing structure based on World Bank categories to ensure global accessibility. Check your country category here:

Countries within each region are assigned to either Category 1 or Category 2 for a sliding scale membership fee, based on categories developed by the World Bank.

Individual
Category 1 – $25 Yearly USD
Category 2 – $65 Yearly USD
Individual membership is open to any individual employed in the field of education and interpretation within zoos, aquariums, nature/wildlife centers, and wildlife reserves in a professional capacity.
Everything included in Associate Membership plus:
- Voting rights for Board elections and other decisions requiring voting (e.g., changes to the IZE Constitution)
- Eligibility to be a visitor in the Job Experience Program
- Eligibility to submit an article for the IZE Journal
- Eligibility to apply to serve on the Board of Directors
- Opportunities for member-only training
Institutional
Category 1 – $300 Yearly USD
Category 2 – $600 Yearly USD
Institutional membership is open to any organization dedicated to conservation education, including zoos, aquariums, nature/wildlife centers, and wildlife reserves.
Everything included in Associate Membership plus:
- Eligibility to be a host site for the Job Experience Program
- Official welcome to IZE on social media channels
- Opportunity for promotion of job/intern openings through IZE social media
- Membership certificate
- High-profile publicity at conferences
Associate
Category 1 – $20 Yearly USD
Category 2 – $45 Yearly USD
Associate membership is open to any individual supporting the objectives of the Association, who is interested in, but who may not be directly employed in the capacity of conservation education.
These individuals may include university faculty and graduate students, volunteers, and school teachers.
